Hi, I'm Gemma, an amateur photographer based in Dorset.
My interest in photography first started back in 2008 when I started experimenting with my point and shoot camera. As I learnt about settings which had previously been a mystery, I soon decided that I wanted to take more control of my photos, leading to the purchase of my first DSLR camera.
Since then I have tried my hand at many types of photography as can be seen from my gallery, but as a veterinary nurse by profession, it is unlikely to come as a surprise that animals are my favorite subjects, and I occassionally take commissions to photograph someones four legged friend.
In 2013 I became a member of the Fordingbridge Camera Club which has further helped me to develop my photography, and my photos have represented the club in Southern Counties Photographic Federation (SCPF) and Stour and Avon Photographic Association (SAPA) competitions, as well as the Salisbury exhibition. I am a member of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS), and gained my Licentiate distinction (LRPS) in December 2021. I am also a member of the Guild of Photographers, and have achieved a number of bronze awards in their Image of the Month competition.
